Roof and Gutter Cleaning Ponsonby

Ponsonby is villa country, and villa gutters are their own kind of job. Most of the housing stock here went up between 1880 and 1920, which means ornate barge boards, steep pitches and long runs of narrow spouting that were never designed for the volume of leaf litter the street trees now drop into them. Sites are tight, boundaries are shared, and there is often no room to stand a ladder where you would want it.

We work these properties the way they need to be worked — off the roof where access allows, with a spotter, and without leaning a ladder against a hundred-year-old fascia that will not take it. Everything we pull out is bagged and taken away rather than tipped into the garden, and we flush the downpipes afterwards so you know the whole run is clear, not just the parts you can see from the footpath.

Ponsonby Gutter Cleaning FAQs

Most Ponsonby villas fall into our standard bungalow and villa range, roughly $218.50 to $264.50 including GST. Two-storey villas and homes with restricted side access sit higher. Access is usually what moves the price here rather than floor area, so we confirm a fixed figure once we know the address — the quote itself is free.

Yes. Narrow rights of way and shared boundaries are normal in Ponsonby, and we plan the job around them. Where a ladder cannot be safely footed we work from the roof instead, and on the tightest sites we use roof anchors. If access genuinely will not allow a safe clean we will tell you at quoting stage rather than on the day.

Original ogee and half-round spouting is often thin and the fixings are a century old, so we hand-clear rather than scrape, and we never rest ladder weight on a heritage fascia. If we find brackets pulling away, split joints or rot behind the spouting, we photograph it and send it through so you can decide what to do next.

Twice a year suits most of the suburb. The plane and liquidambar street trees drop heavily through autumn, and villas with a low-pitch verandah roof collect litter that never washes through on its own. Properties with no overhanging trees can usually stretch to an annual clean.

No, as long as we can get to the property and reach all sides of the house. Plenty of our Ponsonby customers are at work when we visit. We send before-and-after photos when the job is done, so you can see the state the gutters were in and what they look like now.
