Mount Eden Gutter Cleaning
Volcanic slopes and 1920s bungalows under heavy deciduous street trees.
Roof and Gutter Cleaning Mount Eden
Mount Eden sits on and around the maunga, and the slope shows up in the work. Driveways are steep, sections often step down from the street, and the 1920s bungalows that make up much of the suburb carry wide eaves and low-pitched roofs that hold litter rather than shedding it. The deciduous street trees do the rest, filling gutters through autumn faster than most owners expect.
A low-pitch bungalow gutter that has not been cleared in a couple of years is usually not just full of leaves — it is full of compacted, half-composted material with grass growing out of it, and that has to come out by hand before flushing achieves anything. We clear it properly, bag it, flush the outlets and downpipes, and photograph the run before and after so you can see it is actually clear.

It means the gutter has been holding soil and water long enough to support them, so yes. We see it regularly on Mount Eden bungalows. The material has to be lifted out by hand rather than flushed, and once it is clear we check whether the standing water has already started rusting the base of the gutter.
Twice a year for most Mount Eden homes, and the autumn visit is the one that matters. If your house sits directly under a large deciduous street tree, a second autumn clean after the leaves finish dropping is money well spent — one clean in March does not cover a tree that is still dropping in May.
Almost always. Steep and narrow driveways are standard around the maunga and our vans are set up for it. Where we genuinely cannot get close we carry gear in, which is not a problem — we just want to know before the day so we allow the time.
They add reach. A wide overhang means the ladder has to stand further out and the gutter sits further from the ladder line, so on those homes we usually work from the roof instead. It is safer and it lets us see the full run rather than clearing it a metre at a time.
Yes. A lot of Mount Eden customers move to a twice-yearly schedule after the first clean, and we get in touch when the visit is due rather than leaving you to remember. There is no contract to sign and you can change or skip a visit whenever you need to.
